The county has two very different kinds of sprinkler work. Inside the tract belt from Jurupa Valley through Moreno Valley, Perris and Menifee, the builder usually includes the system and the homeowner meets it years later, when a head gets painted during a remodel, a pipe weeps in the attic, or a buyer asks for an inspection report. Out in the unincorporated hills and valleys, custom homes sit on wells and long drives, and the sprinkler design starts with a storage tank and a pump because there is no city main to lean on.

Permits and plan check

My house is in a 2010s tract. Do I need to do anything with the sprinklers?
Look at them once a year, keep paint and storage off the heads, and get a professional inspection when you sell or when something looks wrong. Many owners have never had the system checked since the builder’s final. That is the most common repair call in the county.
